The Renaissance Project relies on the providence of Almighty God and the supporters of Saint Francis' legacy. It expresses a new, dynamic, and encouraging vision of the North Beach area of San Francisco.
At this early stage, the estimated cost for the entire Renaissance Project is $10 million. Discoveries in the architectural and engineering studies currently underway may cause the estimate to be higher or lower. The project's design and scope might require adjustment as the enhancement of the National Shrine progresses.
The Renaissance Project represents an important investment in the history, tradition, and spirit of Saint Francis in the city that bears his name. The restoration and enhancement of the National Shrine will ensure its future as a sanctuary and center for culture and learning for all who come to San Francisco and North Beach. Saint Francis' message of "peace and good" is a message for all people, and those who visit the National Shrine can share it with everyone they meet, spreading the Good News from this holy place.
Your help is needed to provide for this investment and to truly enshrine the Franciscan spirit in San Francisco.
The Archdiocese of San Francisco invites you to join us through the grace of providence — the act of exercising foresight, preparing and providing.
